SHORT DESCRIPTION: Updated NPRR1186 Specification Documents posted and MOTE Testing

LONG DESCRIPTION: On April 11, 2024, the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) approved Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 1186, Improvements Prior to the RTC+B Project for Better ESR State of Charge (SOC) Awareness, Accounting, and Monitoring. System changes associated with NPRR1186 will be implemented on June 27, 2024. In preparation to implement the changes related to NPRR1186, ERCOT has released updated specification documents related to Current Operating Plans (COP) and expected telemetry changes. ERCOT expects to open Market Operations Test Environment (MOTE) for testing the new COP changes on May 20, 2024. ERCOT will send a follow up Market Notice when MOTE is available with these changes. The two updated documents have been posted to the User Guides section of ERCOT.com to account for NPRR186 changes.

  1. ERCOT Nodal ICCP Communication Handbook, v3.22
    • Added ICCP related changes for NPRR1186 to tables 20, 28, and 29
  2. EIP External Interfaces Specification, v1.26
    • Updated section 3.3.9, Current Operating Plan (COP), to include new COP field limits of maxSOC, minSOC, and targetBeginSOC
