NOTICE DATE: May 19, 2017
NOTICE TYPE: W-A051917-01 Operations
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Extended Outages on Certain CREZ 345 kV Transmission Lines in Northwest Texas
INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants
DAY AFFECTED: Now through November 2018
LONG DESCRIPTION: Electric Transmission Texas, LLC (ETT), a Transmission Service Provider (TSP) in the ERCOT Region, has submitted a series of extended Outages in the ERCOT Outage Scheduler for certain 345 kV transmission lines that ETT built as part of the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ) project. During these Outages, ETT will inspect and, if necessary, replace transmission structure components as a part of a warranty claim.
Similar work is already occurring on the Cottonwood to Edith Clark 345 kV transmission line, another ETT-owned CREZ transmission line in Northwest Texas. Outages on this transmission line have occurred for several months and are expected to continue through August 2017.
Due to the long-term duration of these Outages, this Notice is intended to inform Market Participants that these Outages will occur on the following transmission lines over a period of the next 18 months:
· Edith Clark to Clear Crossing |
· Riley to Edith Clark |
· Tesla to Riley |
· Tesla to Edith Clark |
· Clear Crossing to Dermott |
· Clear Crossing to West Shackelford |
Pursuant to the ERCOT Protocols, specific information regarding timing and duration of the Outages for these transmission lines are entered and maintained in the ERCOT Outage Scheduler and will be updated by ETT as necessary. ERCOT will coordinate these Outages to minimize and mitigate any potential reliability impacts on the ERCOT System.
