Market Settlements 301

    Overview

    This course provides a comprehensive overview of financial settlements with QSEs and CRR Account Holders in the ERCOT Nodal Market.  Settlements 301 focuses on the charges and payments associated with Congestion Revenue Rights, the Day-Ahead Market, Reliability Unit Commitment and Real-Time Operations.

    Course objectives:

    • Describe the settlement process in the ERCOT Nodal Market.
    • Identify how market actions cause or affect market settlements.
    • Combine ERCOT settlement equations with a QSE's or CRRAH's market activities to predict settlement results.
    • Analyze a QSE's Settlements Statement for validation.

    Audience

    This course is designed to provide key information needed to understand QSE settlements in the Texas nodal market. The course is intended for all market participants who are part of the testing of settlement systems including accountants, analysts, engineering technicians, IT staff and others.

    Schedule/Registration

    Prerequisites: ERCOT Nodal 101, Wholesale Markets 201

    Note: Attendees are required to take the above prerequisite courses. The Market Settlements 301 course will be taught assuming that the student possesses a thorough understanding of the information covered in the prerequisite courses listed above prior to attending.

    Class times are as follows:

    Day 1 - 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    Day 2 - 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
    Day 3 - 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
