Intermittent Renewable Resources
Intermittent Renewable Resources, or IRRs, have unique operational characteristics that set them apart from all other types of Resources. This course highlights these unique characteristics and examines the special provisions built into the ERCOT market design to accommodate IRRs.
The overall goal is to inform IRR owners/operators of what is expected of them, and how they impact ERCOT’s Market and System Operations.
This course is designed for Market Participants who are new to the operation of Intermittent Renewable Resources in ERCOT. This may include personnel from new QSEs and Resource Entities or personnel from existing QSEs and Resource Entities who have moved into new roles within their companies.
Class time is as follows:
9 a.m. -- 4 p.m.
Prerequisites: ERCOT Nodal 101; Wholesale Markets 201
Note: Attendees are required to take the above prerequisite course. The Intermittent Renewable Resources course will be taught assuming that the student possesses a thorough understanding of the information covered in the prerequisite courses listed above prior to attending.
