M-A080224-01 ERCOT Market Operations Testing Environment (MOTE) for R8 Testing

NOTICE DATE: August 2, 2024

NOTICE TYPE: M-A080224-01 PRR/SCR

SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT Market Operations Testing Environment (MOTE) for NPRR1058 Testing

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: August 2, 2024

LONG DESCRIPTION: In preparation for the August 22, 2024 production implementation of Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) 1058, Resource Offer Modernization, the ERCOT Market Operations Testing Environment (MOTE) will be available for testing changes related to NPRR1058 beginning from August 2, 2024.

NPRR1058 allows Resources to update their energy bids and offers for Real-Time within the Operating Period. Protocol Section 4.4.9.3(4) requires the QSE to submit a reason for the update if the market submission is submitted within the Operating Period (i.e., after the end of the Adjustment Period).  Per the language in the NPRR, the submission of a reason is required for all Resource types.  While the ability to update Energy Offer Curves within the Operating Period currently exists for Energy Storage Resources (ESRs), this requirement for providing a reason also applies to ESRs.  As noted in M-B072324-01, the new XML schema definition (XSD) file ("External_Web_Services_XSD_V1.27_NPRR1058") and a revised version of the EIP External Interfaces Specification document ("EIP_External_Interfaces_Specification_v1_27") have been posted on the XSD page on the ERCOT website.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Please review the ERCOT website for previous Market Notices related to this subject:
