SHORT DESCRIPTION: Delay in the Release of the 2024 Final CDR

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: December 20, 2024

LONG DESCRIPTION: Pursuant to ERCOT Protocol section 3.2.6(1), ERCOT is notifying Market Participants that the posting of the 2024 final Report on Capacity, Demand and Reserves (CDR) is being delayed from December 20, 2024, to the first quarter of 2025. Protocol Section 3.2.6(1) states that “ERCOT will issue a Market Notice indicating a revised posting date if that date is anticipated to occur prior to or after the target posting week.” The target posting week for final CDRs is the third week of each December.

The reason for the posting delay is to provide sufficient time to evaluate Resource and load accounting methods being used for the 2024 final CDR. The evaluation will also consider the impacts due to significant changes to the Resource accounting methods introduced by NPRR1219, Methodology Revisions and New Definitions for the Report on Capacity, Demand and Reserves in the ERCOT Region (CDR), which was approved by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) on September 26, 2024. Finally, this delay will allow sufficient time to consider incorporating information from the April 2024 Long Term Load Forecast (LTLF) update that includes new contracted and officer letter Large Loads reported by Transmission Service Providers.

ERCOT will issue a subsequent Market Notice announcing a definitive CDR release date when that date is determined.
