SHORT DESCRIPTION: Workshop on Segment Membership under the ERCOT Bylaws to take place February 14, 2025; proposals due February 4, 2025.

DAYS AFFECTED: February 4, 2025, and February 14, 2025 

LONG DESCRIPTION: A series of discussions regarding Membership Segments as defined by the ERCOT Bylaws took place at the ERCOT Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) Meetings on September 19, 2024 (item 15) and November 20, 2024 (item 12).  As part of those discussions, some Members expressed interest in considering changes to Segment definitions and structure through one or more workshops in 2025. A workshop will be held on February 14, 2025 at 9:30 A.M. for any interested ERCOT Members and stakeholders.  ERCOT plans to update slides presented at the November 20, 2024 TAC meeting to reflect 2025 Membership data, as well as provide information gathered regarding Membership fees charged by other Independent System Operators (ISOs). 

To facilitate the efficient use of time during the Workshop, ERCOT requests that any interested person with a proposed change to the ERCOT Bylaws please email a rough outline of the proposal to membership@ercot.com by February 4, 2025. Proposals will be added to the Workshop agenda in order of receipt, and submitters should plan to be present at the Workshop to give an overview of the proposal. A Market Notice with the Workshop agenda will be sent February 7, 2025.

The ERCOT Bylaws are the governing document for Segment definitions; any change will require a Bylaws amendment, which requires ERCOT Board of Directors and Public Utility Commission approval.
