SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT System Operator Certification Exam Update
INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants
DAYS AFFECTED: February 4, 2025 until further notice
LONG DESCRIPTION: The ERCOT System Operator Certification Exam will be held at ERCOT's Training Facility every other Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., beginning February 4 through December 16, 2025. However, the exam will not be offered during the months of October or November due to Black Start Training.
Exam dates for 2026 will be identified in September if an exam vendor has not been selected and ERCOT will continue to host the exam in 2026.

ACTION REQUIRED: Registration is $50.00 per exam and available on a first come, first served basis. A maximum of ten exam takers are allowed for each session. Registration is only possible with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover). No purchase orders will be accepted or processed.
Cancellations and modifications will be accepted and refunded provided the cancellation or modification is made by 11:59 p.m. on the Thursday before the scheduled exam. Please see the Refund section of the site for additional details.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: ERCOT will offer a waitlist for the February 4 and 18 exam dates only. If there is enough interest, after the scheduled session is filled, a morning session may be offered to the waitlisted individuals. The morning session will be scheduled at ERCOT's discretion and the waitlisted registrants will be notified as soon as possible.
