M-C022724-01 New South Texas Export and Import Generic Transmission Constraints (GTCs)

NOTICE DATE: February 27, 2024

NOTICE TYPE: M-C022724-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: New South Texas Export and Import Generic Transmission Constraints (GTCs)

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: March 1, 2024

LONG DESCRIPTION: ERCOT has identified a reliability need to limit power transfers in both south-to-north and north-to-south directions across interfaces that are generally south of San Antonio.  ERCOT is therefore establishing four new Generic Transmission Constraints (GTCs) to manage these transfers. These four new GTCs are modeled in the Network Operations Model as E_PASP, E_PATA, I_PASP, and I_KALO.

The purpose of this Notice is to provide contemporaneous notification to all ERCOT Market Participants of these updates. ERCOT will begin enforcing the four new GTCs on March 1, 2024.

Details associated with all GTCs (EMIL ID NP3-770-M, Report ID 11425) can be found on the ERCOT Market Information System (MIS) Grid Transmission page under the Generic Transmission Constraints Methodology Secured Area. A Digital Certificate with role ICE_M_VIEW_ECEII is required to access this ECEII data.
