SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT RMR Exit Strategies for CPS Energy (BRAUNIG_VHB1, BRAUNIG_VHB2, BRAUNIG_VHB3) and Life Cycle Power's (LCP) Mobile Generators Posted on the MIS Secure Area

DAY AFFECTED: March 2, 2025 and thereafter

LONG DESCRIPTION: On March 13, 2024, ERCOT received three (3) Notifications of Suspension of Operations (NSOs) for the following Generation Resources:

•           CPS Energy (BRAUNIG_VHB1, BRAUNIG_VHB2, BRAUNIG_VHB3)

Additionally, an NSO with a revised suspension date for BRAUNIG_VHB3 was received on October 3, 2024. The NSOs indicate that, as of March 2, 2025, BRAUNIG_VHB3 will indefinitely suspend operations, and as of March 31, 2025, BRAUNIG_VHB1 and BRAUNIG_VHB2 will indefinitely suspend operations.

Pursuant to ERCOT Protocols Section 3.14.1.4, Exit Strategy from an RMR Agreement, ERCOT shall report to the Board and post on the MIS Secure Area a list of feasible alternatives that may, at a future time, be more cost-effective than the continued renewal of the existing RMR Agreement.

ERCOT has conducted a reliability analysis and identified an RMR Exit Strategy for the Brauning_VHB3 RMR agreement and the 15 LCP mobile generators identified as an alternative to committing Braunig_VHB1 and Braunig_VHB2. This analysis with identified exit strategies has been posted on the Market Information System (MIS) Secure Area.
