M-C062824-01 Posting of Interface Specifications to support future implementation of Real-Time Co-optimization plus Batteries (RTC+B) Program

NOTICE DATE: June 28, 2024

NOTICE TYPE: M-C062824-01 Operations

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Posting of Interface Specifications to support future implementation of Real-Time Co-optimization plus Batteries (RTC+B) Program

INTENDED AUDIENCE: All Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: June 28, 2024

LONG DESCRIPTION: As discussed in the June 2024 ERCOT Board updates to the Technology and Security Committee and Reliability and Markets Committee, the RTC+B Program has completed the business requirements necessary to design and release the interface specifications. This serves as notice that the interface specifications are now posted for the Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs) and/or vendors to develop their system changes to interface with ERCOT and potentially begin market trials in May 2025 (final project milestones still being developed). Prior to posting these files, ERCOT hosted a series of RTC+B Technical Workshop meetings from April through June 2024 to review the draft interface specifications, strategies for how these changes will be implemented, and the context for these system changes (RTC+B Technical Workshops links for April 18, 2024, May 6, 2024, May 15, 2024, and June 6, 2024).

Below are the links to the four interface specifications needed for QSEs to develop their system changes to support the RTC+B Program:

Also of note, ERCOT will be reviewing a draft QSE Attestation form at the RTC+B Task Force Meeting on July 17, 2024. The Attestation is to be issued later in July in order for QSEs to provide ERCOT with acknowledgement that they understand these interface changes have been posted, that the QSE is engaged in activities to implement these changes, and to designate an Accountable Executive for support of the RTC+B implementation going forward.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: All QSEs are encouraged to engage at the ongoing RTC+B Task Force meetings for implementation updates and planning activities. This forum is especially important for QSEs with Resources that will have the most system changes.
