M-D083024-01 An EPS Meter was incorrectly stopped in the Settlement System requiring a resettlement of multiple Operating Days.

NOTICE DATE: August 30, 2024

NOTICE TYPE: M-D083024-01 Settlements

SHORT DESCRIPTION: An EPS Meter was incorrectly stopped in the Settlement System requiring a resettlement of multiple Operating Days.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: QSEs and CRRAHs settlement personnel

DAYS AFFECTED: November 15, 2023 - January 2, 2024

LONG DESCRIPTION: The Load channel for an ERCOT- Polled Settlement (EPS) Meter associated with a Generation Resource facility was incorrectly stopped in the Settlement System.  This stoppage created an issue where some of the Load at the site was incorrectly attributed to Unaccounted for Energy (UFE).  ERCOT identified the issue on June 28, 2024 and has determined that this affects Settlements for Operating Days beginning November 15, 2023.

ERCOT has already begun correcting the data for those impacted Operating Days for which ERCOT has issued or will issue Settlement Statements after June 28, 2024, which include Operating Days beginning with January 3, 2024. These corrections will continue to be made for the remaining impacted Operating Days for which ERCOT will issue a subsequent Settlement Statement.

ERCOT has now completed the analysis for the impacted Operating Days that have passed True-Up Settlements, which includes Operating Days November 15, 2023 through January 2, 2024, and has determined that 47 of the 49 Operating Days have met the threshold for resettlement per paragraph (2) of Section 9.5.6, RTM Resettlement Statement. Operating Days December 19 and 20, 2023 did not meet the resettlement thresholds.

ERCOT will begin posting the RTM Resettlement Statements on September 05, 2024 and will send a follow up Market Notice with additional details for each Resettlement.
