SHORT DESCRIPTION: Request for data concerning customer Demand Response capabilities

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Retail Electric Providers

DAYS AFFECTED: September 1, 2024 (snapshot); October 15, 2024 (deadline for submitting files to ERCOT), October 31, 2024 (deadline for file corrections)

LONG DESCRIPTION: Protocols 3.10.7.2.2, Annual Demand Response Report, specifies that Retail Electric Providers (REPs) that met the specified average summer 2023 weekday daily consumption threshold are required to participate in the annual Demand Response Survey.

An Other Binding Document titled ‘Demand Response Data Definitions and Technical Specifications’ is posted at https://www.ercot.com/mktrules/obd and provides details on the participation requirements.

For the 2024 reporting year, ERCOT will notify each REP by August 1, via email to the Authorized Representative, to let them know whether they have a reporting requirement or not.

ACTION REQUIRED:

1. By August 15, 2024, the designated Authorized Representative for each REP notified as having a reporting requirement must send a confirmation e-mail to ERCOT at DRSurvey@ercot.com.
1. REPs that do have customers participating in one or more programs that correspond to the categories in the ‘Demand Response Data Definitions and Technical Specifications’ document must send an e-mail to ERCOT at DRSurvey@ercot.com noting such participation.
2. REPs that do not have customers participating in programs that correspond to the categories in the ‘Demand Response Data Definitions and Technical Specifications’ document must send an e-mail to ERCOT at DRSurvey@ercot.com noting the absence of such participation.
2. By October 15, 2024, each REP required to submit data for the 2024 survey must have sent ESI ID participation files to ERCOT. The survey responses should reflect participation by customers participating in those programs on the snapshot of September 1, 2024. Note: REPs may submit the required data in one of the two required formats: via NAESB EDM or using the Proofpoint Secure Share application.
3. By October 31, 2024, each REP required to submit data for the 2024 survey must have resolved data validation issues identified by ERCOT and submitted revised participation files to ERCOT.
4. By October 31, 2024, each REP required to submit data for the 2024 survey must have sent, if applicable, deployment event data to ERCOT.
