SHORT DESCRIPTION: Update - Notification of Change of Generation Resource Designation for Wharton County Generation LLC – TGF_TGFGT_1

INTENDED AUDIENCE: ERCOT Market Participants

DAYS AFFECTED: February 4, 2022

LONG DESCRIPTION: On December 17, 2021, ERCOT received a Notification of Change of Generation Resource Designation (NCGRD) for the following Generation Resource:

• Wharton County Generation LLC – TGF_TGFGT_1

The NCGRD indicated that the Resource Entity intended to change the Generation Resource’s designation to operational as of February 4, 2022. Based on this notification, ERCOT initiated discussions with the interconnecting Transmission Service Provider (TSP) to determine the required studies and facility upgrades for this Resource to return to service.

ERCOT has determined that studies and facility upgrades required by the TSP to return the Resource to service will delay the Resource’s return to service beyond February 4, 2022. Once these studies and upgrades have been completed, the Resource will be allowed to return to service. Although this Resource is not being tracked in the online RIOO-IS system, ERCOT will provide energization and synchronization approval dates in the “Commissioning Update” tab of the relevant monthly Generator Interconnection Status (GIS) reports as this project proceeds through the phases of returning to service.
