Corporate culture and events

Employees from around the world bring a broad range of experience, expertise, and technical skills to ERCOT’s critical mission. They use creativity and innovation to provide reliable electric service and market efficiency to the 25 million Texans served by ERCOT. Dedicated employees have access to the latest tools and technologies and work collaboratively to perform meaningful work that is vital to the Texas economy.

Throughout the year, ERCOT’s Employee Events Committee hosts activities that help foster a fun and collaborative work environment. Highlights include an annual field day, board game day, Halloween contests, an annual employee holiday luncheon, and more.

Health and fitness

ERCOT strongly believes in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and offers numerous opportunities for employees to stay fit. There are on-site fitness facilities, including a gym and a sport court that is used for volleyball, basketball, and pickleball games. "Fit camp" classes are offered for free or at a discounted rate throughout the year. Additionally, informal soccer, basketball, and softball games are held after work.

ERCOT also offers a wellness program with incentives for employees who complete health, nutrition, and fitness activities. ERCOT hosts an annual health and wellness fair, coordinates ERCOTStrong intermural sports, and provides free biometric screenings.

Community involvement

ERCOT employees support a number of local charities through volunteering and fundraising opportunities organized by ERCOT’s Community Involvement Committee. Designated charities include United Way, Central Texas SPCA, Taylor Independent School District, Shepherd’s Heart Food Pantry, and more.

Central Texas Region

With offices in both Taylor and Austin, ERCOT employees are able to take advantage of everything the region has to offer. In addition to being located in the live music capital of the world, there is a wide range of restaurants, shopping, night life, and more in the immediate area. With numerous events and festivals scheduled throughout the year, there is always something going on.

ERCOT is located in the heart of Central Texas with facilities in Austin and Taylor. The majority of positions are located in Taylor, less than a one-hour drive from downtown Austin.
