Financial Information
View ERCOT’s financial information including biennial budgets, audited financial statements, annual informational tax return filings on Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990, as well as information on business expense reimbursements for officers and members of the ERCOT Board of Directors (Board).
Budgets
ERCOT’s budget is approved by the Board of Directors and the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). Budget-related filings with the PUCT, including the Board-approved submissions and the PUCT Orders for ERCOT budgets from 2012 through the current budget, are available in PUCT Project Number 38533 on the PUCT’s website. At the PUCT’s direction, ERCOT has aligned its budget process with the state’s budget process and filed a biennial budget with the PUCT. ERCOT has filed biennial budgets since its 2014-2015 Biennial Budget.
The 2024-2025 Biennial Budget process involved changes between the initial submission and the final version approved by the PUCT. Included here are both the initial submission and the PUCT order.
Audited Financial Statements
ERCOT prepares financial statements in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The statements are audited on annual basis.

Internal Revenue Service Form 990 Filings
ERCOT is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit entity. As such, annually, ERCOT files an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990 – Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax with the IRS. The Form 990 provides an overview of ERCOT’s activities, governance, and financial information.
