Reliability and Operations Subcommittee
Reporting to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), the Reliability and Operations Subcommittee (ROS) develops, reviews and maintains operating guides and planning criteria.
The ROS reviews ERCOT reports and procedures related to the reliable operation of the ERCOT system, including planning assessment; blackout restoration procedures; coordination of protective relay settings; operational communication facilities; operating reserve obligations; emergency operations; abnormal system conditions; transmission interconnections to generation; coordination of outage schedules; and other activities. The ROS also reviews ERCOT protocol revisions and performs protocol-required reviews of ancillary service provisions and commercially significant constraints.
