Frank Owens on behalf of Nodal Protocol and Guides Resolution Task Force (NPGRTF)
Urgent:
No
Sections:
1.4, 2.8.1
Description:
This Nodal Operating Guide Revision Request (NOGRR) modifies language in Sections 1.4 and 2.8.1 related to inadvertent energy.
Reason:
The term "Inadvertent Interchange" as used in the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Standards (i.e., BAL-006, Inadvertent Interchange) does not apply to the ERCOT interconnection because ERCOT is not synchronously connected to other interconnections. The term used in the ERCOT Region that describes the difference between scheduled and actual energy across the Direct Current Ties (DC Ties) is "inadvertent energy" as described in Protocol Section 6.5.4 and Section 3.8, Managing Daily Inadvertent Energy for the SPP DC Ties, of the Operating Procedure Manual, DC Tie Desk. This NOGRR modifies the language related to inadvertent energy to remain consistent with the Protocols, the Operating Procedure Manual, DC Tie Desk, NERC Standards and the equation used by ERCOT Independent System Operator (ISO) to calculate Area Control Area (ACE).
