Description: |
This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) revises the Nodal Protocol language to include a description of the treatment and Settlement of Combined Cycle Generation Resources in the ERCOT Day-Ahead, reliability and Real-Time systems. The design change for the Combined Cycle upgrades are described in the documents located at the following URLs:
"Combined Cycle Plants", http://nodal.ercot.com/docs/pd/ida/sig/SIG0003/sig0003_combined_cycle_plants_v5_0.doc;
"Transmission Constraint Modeling for RT CCP Dispatch",
http://nodal.ercot.com/docs/pd/ida/sig/SIG0022/sig0022_trans_constraint_mod_RT_ccp_disp_v4.doc;
"Combined-Cycle Unit Modeling in the Nodal Design",
http://nodal.ercot.com/docs/pd/ida/wp/ccum/ida003_combined_cycle_unit_modeling_in_the_nodal_design_v3.doc.
The Combined Cycle Train design change described in the above documentation has extensive impacts on ERCOT systems and processes in the areas of Registration, Management Activities (COP and Outage Scheduler), the Day-Ahead Market (DAM), the Supplemental Ancillary Services Market (SASM) and the Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC) processes; and Settlements and Billing. This NPRR adds clarifying language to explain the "as built" system implementation of the conceptual elements of the Combined Cycle Train design change consistent with the existing Protocol treatment of all other Generation Resource types. |
