Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: Jul 14, 2011
Sponsor: Bill Barnes on behaf of J Aron and Company
Urgent: No
Sections: 6.5.7.1.11
Description: This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) creates a reporting requirement to provide transparency into Security-Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) constraint management decisions.
Reason: Market Participants must understand how transmission constraints are managed in Real-Time in order to achieve liquidity in the bilateral market. While ERCOT operations has good reason for the actions that are taken to manage transmission congestion, those decisions are not fully transparent to Market Participants.
