Description: This Nodal Protocol Revision Request (NPRR) will allow aggregation of similar qualified non-wind-powered generators into an Aggregate Generation Resource (AGR) for market and engineering modeling purposes.
Reason: With no impact to reliability, this NPRR streamlines the process for registration, modeling, telemetry, and market submittals associated with projects involving multiple small identical generators. Without this change, ERCOT would be forced to register and model each individual generator which could result in unnecessary delays in the completion of various ERCOT processes, including the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) and Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC). This NPRR will also eliminate the need to expand the number of Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP) points currently in the system. Changes to the ERCOT Nodal ICCP Communication Handbook will be required as a result of this NPRR.
