Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: Feb 4, 2009
Sponsor: ERCOT
Urgent: Yes
Sections: 1.5
Description: This Operating Guide Revision Request (OGRR) removes the requirement that ERCOT perform time error corrections for accumulated time errors exceeding five (5) seconds.
Reason: The NERC Balancing Authority Controls Standard Drafting Team (BACSDT) is gathering field trial data to support the move to eliminating time error correction as it is not believed to be required for reliability purposes and therefore should not be a NERC standard. This OGRR allows ERCOT to maintain compliance with the Operating Guides while participating in the field trial.
