Description:
This OGRR provides more stringent protection and control requirements for all new CREZ 345 kV Facilities.
Reason:
This OGRR provides requirements for the protection and control for the CREZ transmission system that supports the transfer of renewable energy reliably from remote areas to large Load centers. This OGRR is aimed at achieving fault clearing within the voltage curve described in North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Draft Reliability Draft Standard PRC-024-01, Generator During Frequency and Voltage Excursions (http://www.nerc.com/docs/standards/sar/PRC-024-1_Draft1_2009Feb17.pdf). The proposed revisions also address new NERC Planning (http://www.nerc.com/filez/standards/Assess-Transmission-Future-Needs.html) and Protection (http://www.nerc.com/docs/standards/sar/Project2009-07_Tech_Paper_Reliability_of_Protection_Systems_2009Jan20.pdf)standards currently under consideration. Additional information has been provided in the subsequent 021510 AEPSC Comments for this OGRR.
