Background

Status: Approved
Date Posted: Jan 5, 2009
Sponsor: ERCOT
Urgent: Yes
Sections: 8.3.3
Description: This Protocol Revision Request (PRR): 1) Adds a new Outage response timeline that will place a requirement on ERCOT to coordinate Outages submitted with more than ninety (90) days notice at least seventy-five (75) days prior to the start of the proposed Outage; and 2) Provides clarification of three (3) to eight (8) day timeline to eliminate an overlap in requirements.
Reason: 1) The ERCOT TCR case development process incorporates Outages submitted a minimum of forty-five (45) days before their planned start. Currently, ERCOT has no obligation to review any Outage more than thirty (30) days prior to the start of the proposed Outage. The new timeline will increase the accuracy of the TCR Outage by assuring all Outages included in the monthly TCR model have been coordinated. 2) Original language was confusing in that it appeared that the first two (2) timelines overlapped each other.
