This Retail Market Guide Revision Request (RMGRR) updates the process for removal of a switch hold on a Premise with an active Continuous Service Agreement (CSA) to address instances in which the CSA landlord needs to submit a move in for the Premise.
Reason:
This RMGRR addresses the issue that occurs when a tenant moves out of a Premise and that Premise has an active CSA. Currently, when a tenant moves out of a Premise, ERCOT alerts the Transmission and/or Distribution Service Provider (TDSP) of the CSA. The TDSP removes the switch hold and then proceeds with the move in to CSA. However, in instances where the previous tenant does not request a move out for the Premise, the landlord must request that the Retail Electric Provider (REP) initiate a move in on their behalf. If there is a switch hold on the Premise, the move in will be rejected and the landlord is then required to submit documentation showing that they are not the Customer or associated with the Customer for which the switch hold was applied. This RMGRR also provides Market Participants with a Continuous Service Agreement Statement and a sample of an affidavit of landlord.
