ERCOT investigated this issue and found that is a defect that needed to be corrected within ERCOT’s system. In the example CNP sent to ERCOT, the current cr and new cr had the same first 9 characters for their duns and ERCOT was not looking at the extended characters (duns +4) prior to making a determination of if the 814_20 should be sent, therefore the two crs were identified as same cr in ERCOT’s system no need to forward 814_20. ERCOT has issued a sir 11611 to correct this problem. the sir is scheduled to be implemented into production in january 2008 to correct this issue

814_20
Description:
What does ERCOT look at to determine which CR(s) get the 814_20 in the event of a MVI or Switch pending and when (requested or scheduled date) is the decision made to forward the 814_20 information? ERCOT did not automatically forward the 814_20 to New CR because New CR was not the requesting CR nor were they the CR anticipated to be the ROR at the time the 814_20 was received.
Reason:
New CR gaining customer does not have the information provided to them on the 814_05 nor based upon the time these events occur do not have the 814_20 to update their records and appropriately establish the customer’s account information in their database. Manual work due to MarkeTrak issues and telephone conversation to determine how the information can be obtained when transactions or meter information is not received via an automated process.
